Il cocomero ( anguria), in dialetto lu c’trèun, non essendo un prodotto locale, rappresentava una leccornia che si poteva avere solo agli inizi di agosto, in concomitanza con le feste patronali di Celenza.
Era sempre consigliato l’acquisto con la prova, anche se ciò comportava un aumento del prezzo.
La prova consisteva nell’effettuare un buco nel cocomero tirando fuori uno spicchio assaggiando il quale l’acquirente poteva provare la bontà del prodotto decidendo se acquistarlo o no.
